“Little Joe” (2009), 18:12

Little Joe (2009) is a short film that explores my childhood fascination with Joe Cartwright from the television show Bonanza. I created it by digitally recording and editing my family’s VHS home videos with their personal tapings of Bonanza (both found in the same box). Little Joe remains foundational to my art practice, as my current work continues explores themes of Western culture with performance, impersonation, and nuanced relationships to nostalgia.
